FUNDRAISING GUIDELINES

Thank you for choosing to fundraise for ARFID Awareness UK. Your support helps us raise awareness, provide information, and support individuals and families affected by ARFID.

To ensure that all fundraising activities are safe, legal, and enjoyable, please read and follow the guidelines below.

Keep Yourself and Others Safe

Your safety and the safety of everyone involved in your fundraising activity should always come first.

  • Plan your event carefully and assess any potential risks.

  • Ensure appropriate supervision is in place for children and young people.

  • Follow any health and safety requirements relevant to your activity.

  • Do not undertake activities that could cause harm to yourself or others.

  • Consider weather conditions, accessibility, and emergency arrangements where appropriate.

Follow the Law

Fundraisers are responsible for ensuring their activity complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

Depending on your event, this may include:

  • Obtaining permission from venue owners or local authorities.

  • Ensuring appropriate insurance is in place.

  • Following food hygiene requirements when selling food.

  • Complying with any licensing requirements for raffles, lotteries, music, or public events.

If you are unsure whether permissions are required, please seek advice before proceeding.

Be Clear About Your Fundraising

When promoting your fundraiser:

  • Make it clear that you are fundraising in support of ARFID Awareness UK.

  • Do not suggest that your event is organised by the charity unless agreed in advance.

  • Be honest about how funds will be raised and used.

  • Do not make claims about the charity that you cannot verify.

Using Our Name and Logo

We are happy to support your fundraising efforts, but our name and logo remain the property of ARFID Awareness UK.

  • Please seek permission before using our logo on promotional materials.

  • Do not alter or modify our branding.

  • We reserve the right to ask for materials to be amended if they do not reflect our values or guidelines.

Collecting and Handling Donations

Please take reasonable care when collecting donations.

  • Keep cash donations secure.

  • Count money with another person present where possible.

  • Pay donations to ARFID Awareness UK promptly.

  • Do not deduct personal expenses from funds raised without prior agreement.

  • Use reputable online fundraising platforms where possible.

Respect Privacy

Please obtain consent before sharing photographs, videos, or personal stories involving other individuals.

Take particular care when sharing content involving children or vulnerable people.

Inclusive and Respectful Fundraising

We ask all supporters to fundraise in a way that reflects our values.

Please ensure your activity is:

  • Respectful and inclusive.

  • Non-discriminatory.

  • Appropriate for people affected by ARFID and eating disorders.

  • Consistent with the charity's mission and reputation.

We reserve the right to withdraw support from fundraising activities that may harm the charity's reputation or conflict with our values.
